Entrusted Week 1 – Not on My Watch
Not on My Watch
Before automation, lighthouse keepers rotated watches through the night with one hard rule: the light could never go dark. Not even for a minute. Ships were out there trusting that flame to show them where the rocks were. And if the light failed on your watch, your name was right there in the logbook next to the hour it happened. That's where we get the phrase "not on my watch." In this message, Pastor Bill opens the Entrusted series in 2 Timothy 1:1–7 with Paul's final letter — written from a Roman prison cell, awaiting execution — pressing the torch into Timothy's hands. Three callings every follower of Jesus has been entrusted with: follow Jesus completely, fan the flames for Jesus consistently in others, and fight your fears courageously with Jesus. The gospel didn't end with Paul. It didn't end with Timothy. And it was never meant to end with you.
