At Redemption City Church, we believe that God has given every individual a unique capacity to serve and build up those around them, and that using and growing in our gifts through service is part of how we worship Jesus and love one another. Serve Teams at RCC is all about empowering our church family to identify, exercise, and grow in the unique gifts God has given us, and unleashing our people to build up one another and contribute to our worship gathering.
Pause and reflect on your gifts
Because we believe the Holy Spirit has given every Christian spiritual gifts to serve with, we strive to connect people to ministry opportunities that align with their God-given gifts so that our people can grow in their gifts as they serve. Serving is a great way to help our church, but it is primarily an opportunity for discipleship, growth, worship, and community for you, the servant!
Take a minute, grab a Bible, and read Romans 12:3-8. There is no "complete" list of spiritual gifts, but this passage helps us think through some gifting categories, and helps us treasure the variety of gifts--your gifts are just as valuable as anyone else's!
Spend some time praying and reflecting on what gifts you believe God has given you. Ask him to reveal to you, remind you, or re-affirm to you your gifts.
Once you've spent some time doing this, share with us below what gift or gifts you think God has given you. This can be with language from the Romans 12:3-8 passage, or with other language that better fits how you think God is leading you.
Lastly, if after some reflection time you're still not sure--that's okay! The normal and best way to discover your gifts is to actually go serve and reflect along the way. If this is where you're at, simply write something along the lines of "I'm not sure".
